E-IDO OverviewElectronic Import Delivery Order (eIDO)In keeping with our aim to become the message integration hub of choice for industry, 1-Stop Connections Pty Ltd (1-Stop) has introduced a new focus to an existing primarily paper based process, the Import Delivery Order. In a process not dissimilar to the existing export Pre Receival Advice, a drive by the terminals to receive this information electronically provides 1-Stop with an opportunity to re-evaluate the current paper based process to provide industry wide benefits. How will it work? Once a shipping line has received payment and all other commercial requirements are satisfied they will agree that the cargo can be delivered by generating the electronic delivery order or 'authority to deliver' message to 1-Stop, included in which is a unique identification number (PIN). This electronic message will be received directly from the shipping line, a third party or entered into a specially developed web screen that 1-Stop will provide for those lines that are unable to generate a message. 1-Stop will then forward this authority to the relevant terminal and to the importer or their appointed agent if so requested by the shipping line. With the paper delivery order no longer required at the terminal gate, the transport operator will only need to link the PIN number to the booking within the Vehicle Booking System and quote it at arrival at the gate. ![]() The benefits?
